Because cities get more crowded every day and almost half of the world population lives in the city. That city has to stay livable, so people do gureilla gardening and others buy bikes to move faster in all the traffic jams. Levi makes a hit with this collection because those city people are probably dying for a good jacket which does not get wet without making a fool of themselves by wearing a raincoat. A perfect solution, Levi´s clothes mask sweaty smells and does not get wet easily. Just watch the movie and see for yourselves.

Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen grew up in the north of Norway and began making one-of-a-kind jewellery whilst living in India in 2004. With a background from the arts, she has upheld a nomadic lifestyle, always drifting towards new corners of the world in search of inspiration.

Whether the specific inspiration comes from surrealism, Charles Darwin experiments or ancient myths, there is always a link through an industrial approach to conveying nature in a piece of jewellery.

Not all those who wonder are lost

BJØRG Jewellery collection 2012

The 2012 Collection is a venture through dreamlike landscapes. The inspiration is drawn from mythology and tales, playing with escapist and Romantic fantasies. The collection makes up an odyssey of imagnination, mystique and poetry, switching between dreams and reality, thus welcoming Dark Knights, Pale Moons, Magic Hours and Misty Mountains.

Remember these?

I remember that booths like this were all over the city. Not everybody had a phone and these phone booths made us more connected to each other at all times. I never used them, well once I tried. I forgot my phone and needed to reach someone urgent. Luckily I found some change in my pocket! Never used one, but how hard could it be? Or I am just very stupid or it didn’t even work anymore and it just stood there for show!

Nowadays phone booths look a little different! You could call them Telephone Booths 2.0! I hear you think: What’s so different? A newer phone, more technology, more buttons, more possibilities perhaps? Non whatsoever!
It became much simpler and easier. Watch these pictures and you see what I mean!

Indeed, the phone is gone! We are so hung up on being reachable! Internet, games, e-mail it all has to be with us at all times! So…we carry our phone with us, every second of every day! Always reachable! Sometimes it gets very crowded and we like to have our personal phone calls in a more private area. That’s where the these Booths are for! You will never have to overhear loud and annoying phone calls from others and they give you a more private place for all your phone calls.  That means no more hiding in bathroom waiting for that very important call!

This one is called: the BuzziHood. Designed by Alain Gilles. Shown at Maison & Objet.

I hardly ever forget anything, but to be sure I don’t forget or just stop thinking about it I write it down. In my agenda or just on a piece of paper.
I have friends though who forget a lot! You have to remember them about everything and from them you don’t have to expect a phone call on you birthday.

While serving on the internet I found a new clever product called Rememberings™. They are stretchable silicon ring and just like the LIVESTRONG bracelets they have an inscriptions on them that remind us of little but very important things.

Such as:
Take pilss
Call mum
Pay bills
Return books
Buy Gift

Things that could easily slip your mind in a split second. Everyone remembers walking down the stairs for a reason and when you arrived there having absolutely no idea why you went downstairs. Now you look to your rings and BAM you remember!
An accessory which everyone can use because we live in a stressed world, always things to do and never the time to relax for a 100%.
These rings  maybe give you some peace and able you to have more peace!

Claire-Anne O’Brien was inspired by the actual knitted stitches themselves and created them in large-scale to produce these stools with a modern twist. I remember my Grandma knitting sweaters and socks and teaching my sisters how the knit. Nowadays people hardly ever knit and even my sister never knits anymore. But this designer picked up an old habit and turned it in something new! A clever way of taking knitting to a whole new level.

Aren’t they amazing? I love them all!! Let me know which one is your favorite!
